HOW OFTEN?

The Hidden Treasure Raffles will run approximately once every 2 months, with different local good causes being supported each time. Ticket sales will be available for approximately 6 weeks from first announcement of a new raffle to the day of the draw.

WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?

This is an online-only raffle with a unique and exciting difference in that you are buying a ticket to win one of five chances of being invited to go and search outdoors at a nearby location, using your skill as a metal Detectorist to find secretly buried Hidden Treasure Cash Prizes by using our advanced metal detection equipment and techniques.

 

To enter the draw, buy one or more raffle tickets from this website, by filling in your details, which must include your name and email address. The more tickets you buy, the more chances you will have of winning one of the places at the Hidden Treasure Search Event. For each ticket you buy, you will get an email showing your ticket number and the date and time of the draw you have entered.rraw you have entered. 

On the date of the draw, 5 fortunate winners will be chosen from all the entrants using a gambling commission certified random method. WELCOME & TUITION


On arriving at the specified time on the day of the Search Event, the winners (now called the Detectorists) will be greeted by the Hidden Treasure Team members and be given details of what to expect during the event and shown an example of a metal capsule of the type that they will be searching for.  Each Detectorist will then be randomly assigned their own separate, well-defined and specially marked search area. 


The Detectorists will be shown how to use the primary surface metal detector to attempt to locate the special metal capsules by scanning the ground and noting any significant change in sound volume from their detector(s). During the search, the Detectorist will be asked to identify the location of each 'find' by inserting a marker flag at the location of each one detected in their search area.

SEARCH & WIN


  • At the end of the search time all Detectorists will be asked to make their way to the Hidden Treasure Gazebo bringing with them any 'finds' they have made where they will be inspected and converted into the actual cash prizes and given to the appropriate finders.

    After the prizes have been awarded, everyone will be invited to take part in a short celebration where our team will take photographs and record short video interviews with the prize-winners for use on our website and social media pages. Your consent to the use of this material is automatically implied by your attendance at the Event.

All our Raffles consist of 2 Stages

Stage 1 is the Raffle in which tickets can be purchased via our website over a period of weeks (usually 4 to 6 weeks). Within a few days (maximum 1 week) of the closing date a draw will be made using a certified random number generator to establish the 5 winners. Winners will be notified by email.


The amount won will be decided during the Stage 2 Event based on which treasure is actually discovered by the participant.


Stage 2 consists of the Treasure Hunt Event. The 5 winners will be invited to attend the event, where they will take part in a treasure hunt using our metal detectors.


The Raffle prizes are: -

1st Prize: £1,000

2nd Prize: £500

4th Prize: £200

5th Prize: £100


The Raffle prizes may also include Gift Vouchers


All Hidden Treasure Ltd raffles are conducted in accordance with the Gambling Act 2005 Schedule 11, Part 4 as recorded on the Society Registration Certificate granted by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.

Raffle Ticket Ts & Cs

1.    This ticket is non-transferable and only one ticket is valid per ticket purchased. Tickets cannot be on-sold by any means.

2.    Entry is open to all residents of Great Britain. Please be aware that you must be prepared to visit our Treasure Hunt Event in person in Darwen to “find” your prize.

3.    You must be 18 years of age or older to enter the Raffle and to attend our Event. It is an offence to enter a lottery under the entry age.

4.    Raffle Tickets can be purchased solely through our web site. The cost of each Raffle Ticket is displayed on the web site at point of checkout.

5.    Net proceeds and any additional donations go to the charity, charities and/or other good causes indicated on the web site at point of purchase.

6.    Tickets are not to be duplicated or modified for the purpose of falsifying entry.

7.    Please choose carefully as there are no refunds.

8.    The Raffle Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to the Raffle.

9.    The winners will be notified by email within 48 hours of the prize draw and will be provided with full details of the associated Treasure Hunt Event date and location.

10. Winners will be asked to confirm their ability to attend the Treasure Hunt Event. If a winner is unable to or fails to attend for any reason, they will receive the lowest prize amount and no vouchers.

11. Every effort will be made to contact winners by email but if we are unable to make contact within 1 week of the draw date, unclaimed prizes will be treated as donations to the relevant charities.

12. The tickets are created and managed using the TryBooking site and are also subject to the Terms and Conditions of TryBooking UK Ltd

13. As the Event Organiser hosting this event, Hidden Treasure Ltd are solely responsible for all issues relating to the sale of tickets. If you have any questions regarding this event, please use the Contact Us link on our website.

15. Proof of age may be requested.


Treasure Hunt Event Ts & Cs

1.    If the event is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, prize winners will each receive a monetary prize equal to the lowest prize amount and will not receive any vouchers.

2.    A winning ticket entitles the winners to entry to the Treasure Hunt Event, accompanied by one additional guest aged 8 years or over.

3.    All equipment loaned to winners at the event remains the property of Hidden Treasure Ltd and must be returned safely and undamaged. We reserve the right to deduct the cost of any damage from the prize money.

4.    We recommend good outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear as the event takes place on open ground with uneven grass under foot.

5.    The Raffle Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to the Event.

6.    Any persons who are noisy, drunk, threatening or unruly will be asked to leave the event and will not be eligible for a prize.

7.    The event organiser has all rights to film, photo and video production of this event.

8.    Data is managed in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of TryBooking UK Ltd..

9.    If a raffle winner is unable to find their prize during the treasure hunt event, then they will be awarded the lowest prize amount and will not win any vouchers.

DUNCAN'S STORY

The Story of Why I Am Doing This

Firstly, let me introduce myself, my name is Duncan Bell born 1950. I have spent most of my life outdoors farming and mostly plant hire. I drove bulldozers most of that time within my own company. I have retired-ish !

Let me begin with the symptoms, “SOME OF THIS YOU MAY NOT WANT TO KNOW!” What I have, so you get to understand my predicament, this gives you then an understanding of health difficulties, which are still ongoing and no return.

  • My background & medical history

    Way back I lost the sight in my left eye due to getting a steal splinter from a chisel embedded. Safety Glasses were worn, I had just bent down to take them off and put them away. That left me with my same eye but no vision. Two years back this played up and I ended up with a plastic tube inserted to keep the pressure down.


    I was told I had angina, so I have a spray for that, then I had severe chronic Pancriatitis, Gall Bladder removed, then a heart attack that led to me to having 5 stents placed front and rear. The last stent was put in five years ago and just two days after that, I was told I had a rare cancer called NETS “neuroendocrine“, I will not go into details about my left arm I managed to make a mess of.


    This cancer is in quite a few places in my body, neck, stomach, liver and so on. It took its toll, I had a major operation to remove most of my stomach and now I am left with SBS “small bowel syndrome” which means I needed to have a Stoma Bag permanently.


    I then started suffering with severe stomach pains which now have led to me having kidney problems to such an extent that I am now on Dialysis three times a week. 

    In hospital I thought I would help to payback the good work they are doing.


    I was asked to go on a patients committee to help ELHT “ Blackburn Hospital” to gain NETS cancer credibility. With this, a new position was created for a specific nurse to cover NETS and this led me to the idea of using my land to raise funds to keep this position open for people following me. So I am still known as the guinea pig for this cancer, which covers new treatment ongoing treatment and fault finding. 


    I was told back in September 2023, I think it was, by the oncology doctor, that the cancer had doubled in the last three months so they referred me to The Christies. They came back and said it’s too late and all they suggested was to up my cancer treatment from every four weeks to three weeks, and that’s where I am at this moment in time.


  • My thoughts on fund raising

    I have already planted some Christmas trees to sell to the hospital for the nurses to raise funds for the cause, and I have been racking my brains on how I can use my assets to be more useful. This has led to me and my good friends forming a company called Hidden Treasure Ltd. We hope to raise local funds to help our local community. I think if we can help our own first, like raising money for hospitals, dialysis, people living rough, helping feed people, and if we can help people that genuinely need help, that would be great. Your Ideas would be welcome.
